Tax simplification is the topic of the day once again. Senate finance committee members are holding meetings with experts to listen to and weigh proposals for reducing complexity in the US tax code.

At the same time, other senators and congressmen continue to propose amendments to the existing code. A check of GovTrack shows four bills introduced on a single day last week, including one to provide tax incentives for the donation of wild game meat.

Dichotomies are obvious when team members working at cross-purposes are exposed to public view. Yet disunity is not confined to the public arena. The same rifts occur in more private settings, including work and family.

How well does your team work together? More importantly, how does your attitude affect the way your team functions?

The gardener arrived, pruners in hand, and set to work. ...
